Dual diagnosis is when a mental health condition and a substance use disorder are both present and feeding each other. You do not need two formal labels on paper to start a conversation. At Exist that picture is a PHP or IOP week in Laguna Beach, not two programs and a referral out. If you need medical detox or a hospital bed, we refer.

How both sit in the week

How Exist treats both in one week.

PHP or IOP, the week holds both conditions. Group for the pattern. 1:1 for the history. Body work for the craving that is still in the nervous system. Psychiatry when medication is part of the plan.

    Overlap

    Relief started in the nervous system. Breath and movement first, then the hour that used to need the old way.

    Full day or half day. Same clinic. Same team. You go home at night — or to Truth House if you are already in the program.
