What this page is

Somatic work sits in the program week.

Somatic therapy here is body-first care inside trauma-informed PHP or IOP in Laguna Beach, not a spa hour. Breath and clinical yoga start the day so the body can stay in the room. Processing and skills sit next to this work. It is not a hospital, a locked unit, or a weekly class you add later.

The body first. Then the rest of the week.

The body inside the week

How somatic work sits in a PHP or IOP week.

A somatic day at Exist runs the whole model. Breath and yoga for the nervous system. Group for the pattern. 1:1 for the history. EMDR when a target is ready. Distress skills when the hour will not wait. Psychiatry when medication is part of it. You go home at night — or to Truth House if you are already in the program. The day is not a spa block and not a weekly yoga hallway. Trauma, personality, and use sit in the same groups when they are part of the week.

  1. Bare feet settling on dark oak floorboards in warm side light — the body start of the week.

    Body

Breath, yoga, the skill that makes the next hour possible. The week starts in the body when the mind cannot.

  2. An empty dark wool floor cushion beside a tall dusk window over a pale horizon, cream wall, dark wood.

    Mind

The thought that still runs once the chest drops. We work the reaction before asking you to change the life.

  3. A person in a dark coat walking a narrow coastal fire road through tall dry grass at dusk, back to camera, a pale sun low right.

    Brain

What sits under the startle — trauma, use, and personality read as one history, in a safe room.

  4. Two people sitting on a dark wooden floor with space between them, backs to camera, facing a tall dusk window.

    Practice

Breath and yoga with your own clinician in the same PHP or IOP week. Not a hallway that waits until you are “calm enough.”

What the body holds

The names in the room. Same week.

This is not a directory of other modalities or a grid of program intensities. Those live on their hubs. These are the ways the nervous system arrives here — treated together, not after each other.

What we treat
  1. Trauma

A body that still treats the past as now. Safety first, then the breath. The trauma page holds that name.

  2. The body

Breath and yoga that are clinical, not decorative. Not a spa. Not a weekly class you add later.

    • Breath
    • Same week
  3. Use as relief

Alcohol, prescriptions, the night that needed a way through — treated with the body, in the same week.

    • Dual diagnosis
    • Same week
  4. The rest of the plan

DBT skills and EMDR sit in the same PHP or IOP week when they belong. Not a later clinic.
